You could take a college course, to learn some of the skills needed to do this job. Courses include:
You'll usually need 2 or fewer GCSEs at grades 3 to 1 (D to G), or equivalent, for a Level 1 course. You'll need 2 or more GCSEs at grades 9 to 3 (A* to D), or equivalent, for a Level 2 course. For a T Level you'll need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and maths.

With experience and extra training, you could become a site supervisor, clerk of works, estimator or contract manager. You could also work as a trainer and assessor on tiling courses, or set up your own business.
Building services engineers design, fit and maintain the heating, lighting and power systems in offices, hospitals and shopping centres.
Building technicians support engineers, surveyors and architects on construction projects.
Engineering construction technicians install, service and repair machines and equipment in buildings, factories and industrial plants.
Landscapers create and maintain gardens, parks and other outdoor and indoor areas.
Architects design new buildings and the spaces around them, and work on the restoration and conservation of existing buildings.
Ceiling fixers fit suspended ceilings in buildings to cover pipework, wiring, and heating and air conditioning systems.
We have a fantastic opportunity to start a career in engineering in the construction industry as part of the IDH team. This is an apprenticeship role where you will gain a recognised Level 3 qualification and learn the key skills required to become a design engineer.

Would you like to plan and complete a range of maintenance work on industrial and commercial building services engineering systems such as ventilating, heating, water supply, waste and drainage? This JTL delivered Apprenticeship will teach you to become a competent service and maintenance engineer.
During your apprenticeship we will provide you with the opportunity to train in all aspects of the role.Working at Heights. Workplace Health & Safety. Working with and preparation of different work surfaces. Painting by means of variety of tools and techniques, wallpapering, safe use of decorating materials. Tools & Equipment. You will attend college on a day release.
