Description
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Produce safe, practical and economic temporary works designs under the guidance of an engineer.
- Prepare material schedules for designs where required.
- Assist with producing design submissions for customers within a document control process.
- Liaise with colleagues within IDH, engineers, management and admin.
- Co-ordinate design requests with customers.
- Assist with the production of quotes and develop a commercial understanding of the business.
- Produce and maintain a personal time sheet.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician
- Training will be provided one day a week (from the employers office / remote learning) with block release grading.
- Training will be provided by Learning Skills Partnership Ltd.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Typically, the apprentice will progress into a design role in temporary works, formwork, scaffolding or permanent works design.
- There will also be opportunity to progress into business development and management.
- As part of the training program the candidate will become a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers. IDH offer futher opportunity to develop within the ICE.
