TV and film directors lead the creative and technical production for cinema and television.
You could take a course at university in film or television production before moving into directing. You'll usually need 2 to 3 A-Levels, or equivalent.
Volunteering
It's important to get as much experience as you can in film and TV, and an in-depth understanding of the production process. You can do this by taking part in activities like student or community film or TV, and finding work experience placements on film projects. You can search for film and TV companies to approach for experience through media business listing services.
You could also take short courses in production skills for directors run by film schools, regional screen agencies and private training providers. A network of industry contacts will be extremely useful.

Entertainers perform for audiences in stage, cabaret or comedy shows.

Magazine journalists research and write news articles and features for a wide variety of publications.
Art editors use words and images to make magazines look good and easy to read.
Conservators preserve and restore historical objects, artworks and buildings.

Candidates will undertake four-weeks of employability workshops with Catch22, learning about the tech industry and employability skills, whilst networking and engaging in projects with other participants. During the workshops, participants attend a session run by Microsoft employees, where they will have the opportunity to ask them questions and hear about their careers so far.Following the four-week workshops, candidates will work with a tech-industry-specialist Career Coach to tailor their CVs, cover letters and interview skills, finding and applying for jobsapprenticeships within tech. Once participants are in employment, we offer in-work support for 6-months.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: -Not in work or education-Between 18-30-Interested in techcomputer literate-Access to a computer or laptop to join the sessions
