Translators convert the written word from the 'source language' into the 'target language', making sure that the meaning is the same.
You'll usually need a degree or postgraduate qualification in translation. Relevant degrees include languages – there are also courses which specialise in linguistics or translation may give you an advantage but are not essential combined degrees which include a subject like law or science with languages.
You could also do a postgraduate course like a master's in translation or translation studies. You'll usually need 2 to 3 A-Levels, or equivalent, for a degree. You'll need a degree in a relevant subject for postgraduate study.

Many translators work freelance or through translation agencies. With experience you could start your own translation agency, or move into teaching.
Retail merchandisers make sure that goods are in the right stores, or online, at the right time and the right price.
Media buyers book advertising space in newspapers and magazines, and on TV, radio and the internet.
Camera operators record images for film, television, commercials and online.
Music promotions managers publicise recording artists or live music events.
Film critics analyse films and produce reviews and articles for newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, social media channels and websites.
Actors use speech, movement and expression to bring characters to life in theatre, film, television and radio.

Candidates will undertake four-weeks of employability workshops with Catch22, learning about the tech industry and employability skills, whilst networking and engaging in projects with other participants. During the workshops, participants attend a session run by Microsoft employees, where they will have the opportunity to ask them questions and hear about their careers so far.Following the four-week workshops, candidates will work with a tech-industry-specialist Career Coach to tailor their CVs, cover letters and interview skills, finding and applying for jobsapprenticeships within tech. Once participants are in employment, we offer in-work support for 6-months.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: -Not in work or education-Between 18-30-Interested in techcomputer literate-Access to a computer or laptop to join the sessions
