Description
As part of your apprenticeship you will be working towards and completing your Hairdressing Professional Standard Level 2 and the units included in this are:
•Meeting and greeting clients
•Reception Duties – Including managing payments and booking appointments
•Shampooing and conditioning hair
•Cut hair using techniques
•Style and finish hair
•Colour and lighten Hair using a range of techniques
•Health and Safety which will include cleaning and sweeping the salon
•Perming or Hair Extensions are optional units
•Knowledge, skills and behaviours
Please find below some of the duties and expectations of Apprentice Hairdresser:
•Everyone within the premises is required to comply with COVID regulations and the successful applicant will have to support with this
•Take ownership of learning
•Work with employer to supply models needed for assessment and training
•Your Trainer Assessor will meet with you regularly to provide teaching, learning and feedback from assessments completed. To support your progress you will be required to complete a reflective journal of the learning you have undertaken and discuss this with your Trainer Assessor.
•Willing to work long days due to busy times within salons

Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and Maths and to have taken Level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

- Identify, track and support 20% off the job training activities
- Quarterly formal progress review meetings; identifying learning achievements and next steps.
- Individual learning plan - this will be used as part of a professional discussion during your reflective progress review meeting and track the 20% off the job training progress.
