Introduction Into DSM Nutritional Products

We are one of the world’s leading producers of essential nutrients like; vitamins, carotenoids, nutraceuticals and nutritional lipids; as well as solutions for the feed, food, pharmaceutical and personal care industries. DSM and its associated companies employ approximately 23,000 people around the world and deliver annual net sales of about €10 billion in four main markets:

In support of this the Dalry production facility has been producing vitamins since 1958 and today the main production processes are Vitamin C, Calcium-D-Pantothenate (Vitamin B5) and Panthenol (proVitamin B5). With a recent announcement of the plans to extend the site product portfolio to include the production of Bovaer, an animal feed additive that reduces methane emissions.

DSM Nutritional Products, is one of the region’s most prominent companies, employing approximately 350 staff and around 200 contractors at the Dalry production site.

The Vitamin B5 plant produces Calcium-D Pantothenate manufactured at Dalry since 1972 for pharmaceutical and nutritional use within foods, beverages, dietary supplements and animal feeds. In 1994 the Vitamin B5 plant commenced the manufacture of D-Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) and dilute D-Panthenol forms for use in the personal care markets.

By 1984, the Dalry site was supplying Vitamin ‘C’ to the food, pharmaceutical and feed industries worldwide.

This extensive range of high-quality Vitamin ‘C’ and ‘B5’ forms serve the highly varied needs of the human and animal nutrition and health sectors; as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

DSM Emerging Talents Programme

What We Will Provide:

At DSM Dalry, our Emerging Talents Programmes are the back bone to recruit, develop and support our staff of the future. Our introduction programmes provide first hand, tailored on-the-job training supported by our industry experts from day one.

For our apprentices this will be combined with bespoke off the job training, delivered by our academic partner (West College Scotland) to help you develop and progress in this exciting career opportunity.

For our graduates the scheme allows for a high level of responsibility and autonomy from the outset. Ensuring graduates have the capability to FastTrack their own development.

Where We Are:

The site is located adjacent to the town of Dalry in North Ayrshire on the B780, a main Glasgow to Ardrossan bus route and within 20 min walking distance of Dalry Railway Station on the main Glasgow to Ayr railway line.

Who We Are Looking For:

You need to have a clear desire to be part of our Culture showing ‘who you are’ and ‘what you stand for’, alongside excellent interpersonal, planning and organisational skills. Other essential behaviours are self-motivation, team player, excellent communication and ability to engage positively with others.

Modern Apprenticeships:

  • Process Operations Technical – 4 Years
  • Process Operations – 3 Years
  • Laboratory Analyst – 3 Years
  • Instrument & Electrical – 4 Years
  • Mechanical – 4 Years

Graduate Apprenticeship:

  • Data Science (Tech) – 4 Years

Graduate Positions:

3-year Graduate programmes on offer are:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Quality Officer

Recruitment Process:

Our recruitment process is essential to ensure we select the talent of the future, this consists of 5 key stages;

  1. Initial screening of applications
  2. Online video interview
  3. Online ability testing
  4. On-site interview and practical testing
  5. Medical pass and offer of position
