Our 18-month apprenticeship programme combines the opportunity to gain your Business Administration Apprenticeship standard, whilst developing practical experience of working as part of a small team gaining real experience working as part of our involvement on Sheffield’s largest highways infrastructure contract, Street’s Ahead worth £2bn!
Working as part of a small team, you’ll be responsible to carry out all aspects of highways ground maintenance, including the following:
- Schedule and co-ordination of emergency and urgent works
- Supporting the team as required so that we deliver the contractual and implied obligations to our customers
- Provide a high quality of customer service by ensuring the basics are delivered on time and against requirements
- Understand, anticipate, and deliver client requirements
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency to contribute to service delivery
- Ensure the teams on the ground have a consistent understanding of what they are required to deliver
- Ensure mandatory workplace training and certification is completed when requested
- Work collaboratively with other service area’s on the contract to ensure the appropriate first time resolutions
- Represent Amey’s values and act as a personal role model in driving adherence to core procedures, policies and system

One of the best things about an Apprenticeship with us is that you don’t need to have experience of working in this area. However, you will need to share our passion and demonstrate your desire to develop yourself within this exciting area.
Minimum qualification requirements are:
- Minimum 2 GCSE’s (or equivalent) Grade A*-C. Must include Maths and English
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a nationally recognised Business Administration level 3 standard via our training partner, Learning Skills Partnership . Your Apprenticeship typically takes 18 months to complete and is fully supported through a combination of regular online lessons, e-learning materials, and access to their team of experts for 1-2-1 advice and support.
Within Amey, you’ll be partnered with a “buddy” to assist you as you settle into your new role within our business support team, helping answer all those initial questions you may have. Once you’ve settled in, you will be allocated a mentor who will support you throughout your Apprenticeship, helping you develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.
We keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum:- Available to commence employment with Amey in September 2022
- The commitment and drive to complete your course and final assessment
- Passion to develop your skills both professionally and personally.
At the end of your Apprenticeship, you will move into a guaranteed permanent position with Amey, and your development does not stop there!
