Description

Function: To process sales orders, pick stock, cut where necessary using relevant method, prepare and pack for despatch in accordance with the information available on sales tickets.

To assist in the process of unloading, checking in goods and test-certs.


Duties and Tasks:

• Processing of Sales Tickets

• Retrieve materials from warehouse for self/warehouseman and Process order in accordance with sales ticket

• Record relevant details on sales ticket, i.e length cut cast number and off cut created where appropriate.

• Produce collection label or despatch documentation labels which ever is applicable. Pass paperwork to Works Manager to despatch on PC and attach returned Advice Notes and Test-Certs to goods.

• Return off cut to warehouse.

• Customer Collections

• Receive collection note from customer.

• Retrieve Pipextra advice note from collection file. And check file for any other orders for same customer.

• Confirm collection note details match that of the advice note

• Ask customer to Sign, Print, Date and Time Advice Note.

• Release goods to customer. Load onto customer vehicle if required.

• Return our signed copy of advice note to office administrator.

• Goods Inward

• Receive delivery note for supplier.

• Retrieve purchase order from purchase order file and confirm delivery details.

• Unload vehicle if safe to do so, otherwise inform works manager of un-safe load.

• Check Delivery note against load and check for damage where possible.

• Indicate any damage on delivery and purchase order informing works manager and driver.

• Check the material grades, size and cast number against delivery notes and match with test-certs, highlight any shortages or damage on paperwork, and pass to works manager.

• Transfer materials to warehouse where appropriate identify and quarantine any rejected material

• General Housekeeping

• A person with forklift skills

• Manual dexterity

• Experience of machine operation and use of measuring equipment would be an advantage but training would be given

• Attention to detail

Intermediate Level 2 Apprentice Supply Chain Warehouse Operative, including NVQ and functional skills maths and English. Work based learning.
